Just travel in general...

Seems to spawn a lot of fun conversations, but I do find that the more severe the turbulence in an air craft, the more people start to share information: relevant or not. This is a brilliant tactic; see guys, all you have to do is scare someone near death to get them talking... makes so much sense now.

In Denver, about to bust the guitar out (the gate is empty so it's not creepy.) One of the maintenance workers took too large of a dump and broke our 737's bathroom. So now it is delayed an hour.

A Gander; not that town in Newfoundland.

So originally I wrote this intense, profound evaluation of forgiveness in action in our lives and everything, but I think I'll use that for a later post. I'm in California for one more day, and now I'm ready to come home. This trip has been tough. Lots of thinking and writing which has led to a lot of consciousness in my life. I suppose it's now time to continue on home, take care of stuff before I start school, and get out of this deep-thinking slump and embrace my friends and community. Well for now I have a song for you all (imagine a folkish timbre with lots of falsetto and vibrato) :

In the summertime the smoke's filling life into our lungs.
It's hard to explain but the ocean's watching us as we decay
Throughout the night, we're trying real hard to fight
tougher than ever, you're the source of our frustration
and the life behind our little minds

as the fog roles in, the mountain tops are stroking our thighs,
warming our thoughts cuz it's too cold for anything else.
what happened to the movements that created old history's time
It's alright, we're just goin' lay here anyways. Good morning

p.s. today I started the pre-cleanse. Not too intense, but it's going to be a long journey. I hope this is freakin' worth it.

fire

Tonight I spent time sitting next to the fire and writing some new tunes with my little cousins near. and if I haven't told you about these two little devils, they are basically my two siblings. I grew up as an only child, but watched these little nuggets turn into chickens throughout the years. Amber is younger, at the age of ten, and is nearly 5 ft tall with a supposed whit to her diction; Jack is twelve and a softer boy that has bleach blonde hair and hasn't grown an inch since he was probably six. Well, these two kiddies are like my brother and sister. I love them to death and coming back here has, I'm sure, stunned their growth in maturity considering I act like a complete third grader with them, playing games that I used to indulge in when I was their age. I love it. So tonight we sat by the fire and watched the fog role in form the coast on the rugged valley yonder. It was incredible to say the least. So while this was all happening, the sun's rays burst throughout fragments of the fog creating this awesome indescribable visual orgasm. And as if it wasn't beautiful enough, the moon was already robustly set in the sky looking down as this was happening, and one by one as it go darker, start would pop up accordingly in the sky. My God. How awesome is this earth?

On another note, I have a meeting with the owner of some web design company out here in
California doing freelance music work for his websites. I'll post the results... Also I'm coming back Wednesday.

Oh, the beginnings

The wonders of owning my own blog spot, how delightful...

Woke up, got dressed, paid my parking ticket, drove to my grandparents for some grubs, and did my devotion. While doing my devotion I realized some incredible things. First off, I read all of Acts 1 & 2, which really isn't relevant to what I'm about to talk about, but maybe while I'm hacking at the keys I'll some how find a connection between the two things. But as I am here in California, entirely out of my comfortable element, sanctity of my friends, and community, I am starting to  see how Christ followers really are in the world but not of it, for the most part. Being in Orlando can sometimes be staggering in the sense that a lot of our/my friends are Christians, and we only surround ourselves by Christians. Acts, talks about that community and fellowship in Christ which is so important, but when are we called to really be in the World? What about that verse in John 15 that says: "If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the World, but I have chosen you out of the World. That is why the world hates you." Since being in California, I feel like I experienced this first hand. There is no community where I am. God is just an idea that doesn't shine through the cracks of the concrete structures & hearts out here. And when one hears of genuinely devoted selfless acts, that person committing them self is considered an outcast, a rebel  and a supposed anarchist. I wasn't aware that so many people hated the idea of Jesus' intended life so much. I suppose, we Christians can be pretty dangerous at times which would make sense why people are initially thrown off by living for an "invisible being." In order to do so we are called to be of a greater kingdom, a greater lord, and greater good. "Make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being on in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others."
Touche Jesus, Touche.

I suppose living out the Lord's prayer to the T is a great way to start in our own lives( I suggest looking up "Lord's Prayer" under my playlist while reading).

"Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts
As we forgive all those who are in debt to us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
for thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory
forever and ever. Amen."

What would happen if we lived this prayer in our lives as a war cry? A subtle dagger in which we pierced the darkness with our dedication, genuine passion, and love for one another: both Non-christians and Christians alike? I suppose that's how we make our enemies a footstool for our feet.
